  • Time: 11am to 3pm

Werribee Park will come alive with some special historic holiday activities in January.

Children from ages 5 to 12 can experience what life was like for children in the 1800’s, with old fashioned games and activities.

The Friends of Werribee Park will be running these events on three Saturdays, the 9th, 16th and 23rd January.

All the activities are free and run from 11am to 3pm.

Bookings are not required.

There will be rope making demonstrations and an expert showing how woollen yarn is made with a spinning wheel. Kids will also have the chance to make their own old fashioned yarn doll and play colonial games.

For a closer look at historical childhood days, an entry fee of $9.60 (adults) $7.10 (children and concession card holders or $30.50 (family of 2 adults and 2 children) will take you back into the early days of the Mansion and some magnificent spaces. There is the beautiful Drawing Room and the children’s bedroom, where kids can play with vintage puppets, ride the rocking horse and try on Victorian clothes.

You don’t need a machine to travel back in time; a visit to the mansion will take you there!

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
