The National Council of Women was established in Victoria in 1902, and is one of the oldest women's organisations in Victoria.  It is non-sectarian and non-party political in encouraging the participation of women in all aspects of community life. Soon after its establishment NOW was proactive in areas such as Equal Pay for Equal Work, The Rights of the Child and Technical Education for Women and these are still their agenda.  Their current issues include Country of Origin Food Labelling, Women in Prisons, Changes to the Health Act, Trafficking of Women, Water and Ageing.

Keynote speak Sheila Byard was elected President of the National Council of Women in Victoria in 2013. She is also the Convenor of the United Nations Association Status of Women Network. She has a strong interest and is an advocate for the National Action Plan for Reducing Violence.

Cost $30 per person / students $25 includes finger food and a drink on arrival. Please note: No disabled access at venue
